Planning your visit

Evanston Hospital has a large parking garage which is a PAY ON FOOT facility—with no cashiers at the garage exit. Patients and visitors can park at established rates. In accordance with the City of Evanston Noise Ordinance (Section 9-5-23A), activated vehicle burglar alarms are strictly prohibited on the grounds of Evanston Hospital.

Paying for parking

Parking pay stations are located in the Northwestern, Michigan and Notre Dame lobbies of the parking garage. For more information call 847.570.2120.

To PAY ON FOOT patients and visitors should do the following:

  • When exiting your vehicle you will need to take your ticket with you.
  • Before returning to your car, pay for parking at one of the convenient pay stations located in a garage elevator lobby.
  • When you leave the parking garage, you will need your paid ticket as an exit pass.
  • Credit cards and cash are accepted at pay stations. Credit cards are accepted only at exits.
  • Discount stickers will no longer be used. A discount “chaser ticket” (color ticket) will be used. The chaser ticket will be inserted after the parking ticket (white ticket) and will provide the discount and final rate.

Parking rates

  • 0-30 minutes: Free
  • 30 minutes-6 hours: $4
  • 6 hours+: $20

Note: All patients and visitors are eligible for the $4 rate no matter how long they are in the garage.

Business center

We recognize that visitors to the hospital sometimes can spend time waiting. Visitors are encouraged to use our business center overlooking the Main Entrance Atrium. To get there, take Elevator B or the escalator to the first floor. Plug your laptop computer into one of our data ports for internet access free of charge or use your own fax equipment to send and receive faxes. Use of mobile phones is not permitted within the hospital.

Our clinically trained, board-certified chaplains from the Spiritual Care and Support Department offer support to engage the spiritual dimension of people (their beliefs, faith, culture, values and religious practices) to foster healing, growth and wellbeing.  When faced with times of stress, illness and crisis, people often draw closer to their spirituality. Support from a chaplain can play a major role in the healing process and can help patients and their loved ones through challenges associated with illness or injury. Our chaplains offer support that is respectful of each patient’s spirituality, religious beliefs, privacy and dignity.

To reach a chaplain or to request spiritual care and support services at Evanston Hospital, please call (847) 570-2330. The chaplain is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

As patients and families you have the right to have effective communication regarding your care and treatment in a language and communication device that you understand.

Phone-based language interpretation is available for all languages, as well as telecommunication devices for the hearing/sight impaired.

Please ask your nurse or caregiver to arrange for assistive communication services/aids should you need medical care at Evanston Hospital.
