Salary & benefits

Annual stipends range from $75,205 (PGY-1) to $86,036 (PGY-4), with full medical, dental, vision and disability coverage available.
Each resident has a personal office with a desk, computer, microscope and access to digital photography equipment and Wi-Fi throughout the hospital.
Residents receive a $600 annual book/laptop allowance and program-sponsored travel to national meetings such as CAP, ASCP and USCAP.
Residents receive 20 days paid vacation per year, and have access to wellness offerings through the University of Chicago, including employee assistance programs, counseling resources, and fitness benefits.

Pathology residents presented multiple abstracts at the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology (USCAP) annual meeting, covering topics such as HER2-low breast cancer and innovations in colon cancer staging.
Linda Ernst, MD received the Outstanding Academician Award from Endeavor Health Medical Group, recognizing her contributions to perinatal pathology and resident mentorship.
Recent resident and faculty publications appeared in American Journal of Clinical Pathology and Nature Communications, advancing knowledge in breast cancer, placental biology, and digital pathology.
