Gus Granchalek serves as President of Skokie Hospital, a destination site for the Endeavor Health Orthopaedic and Spine Institute and a nationally ranked specialty hospital dedicated to orthopedic and spine care. He also leads the Endeavor Health Digestive Health service line.
Granchalek joined the organization in 2019 as part of NorthShore University HealthSystem, holding various leadership roles across departments including system surgical services, gastroenterology and anesthesia. Granchalek and his team were instrumental in the launch of the Endeavor Health Cardiovascular Institute at Glenbrook Hospital (2024) and the Endeavor Health Orthopaedic and Spine Institute (2019). Under his leadership, he integrated the system surgical services team into a single operating unit, while simultaneously adopting a more standardized, efficient processes, resulting in faster treatment times, more consistent clinical outcomes and improved collaboration across multidisciplinary care teams. These improvements have contributed to a better overall patient experience and reinforced Endeavor Health’s commitment to safe, seamless and personal care. The Sterile Processing team under his leadership was recognized as the nation’s leading department in 2022 by Healthcare Purchasing News.
Additionally, Granchalek is actively involved in community workforce initiatives, including a strategic partnership with Oakton College that has expanded and diversified the healthcare talent pipeline in the region.
Prior to joining Endeavor Health, Granchalek held leadership roles at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Surgical Services, Nursing and Supply Chain. He started his career in consulting focused on operations improvement and supply chain management. He also served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Honduras.
Granchalek earned an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Born in Chicago and raised in Evanston, Illinois, Granchalek is proud to serve the community he was raised in. He serves as a volunteer coach with the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO), is passionate about the outdoors and finds time to be in nature often with his wife and three young children. Granchalek also is an avid runner and triathlete.
