Everyone deserves clear, respectful communication, no matter what language they speak or how they communicate. Whether you speak a language other than English, use sign language, or need a communication device, our goal is simple: help you connect clearly with your care team — at no cost to you. Interpretation and communication support is available across all our locations, for both patients and their families or caregivers.

How we support communication

In-person interpretation

Live interpretation is available for common spoken languages and American Sign Language (ASL). Please request this in advance when scheduling your visit. ASL interpreters are prioritized and offered whenever possible. In-person interpreters for other languages are provided based on availability and may not be available for all visit types.

Over the phone interpretation (OPI)

Available 24/7 in more than 240 languages, including the most commonly spoken languages spoken in Illinois. No pre-scheduling required. Accessible at every Endeavor Health location, including for emergency and walk-in visits.

Video remote interpretation (VRI)

On-demand video access to professional interpreters in over 40 languages. Available at every Endeavor Health location.

TTY/TTD devices

We offer telecommunications devices for people who are deaf, hard of hearing or have speech impairments. Please request these when scheduling your appointment so we can ensure availability.

Accessing interpreter & communication services

Let us know your interpretation or communication needs when booking your appointment. You can indicate your preferred language during registration so our team is ready to support you. We’ll coordinate the right support for your care setting and preferences.

Tell our staff at check-in or speak directly with your care team. Phone and video interpreters are available at all locations, with no need to schedule in advance.

No. All communication support services — including in-person, video and phone interpreters — are provided free of charge for patients and their family members or caregivers.

Qualified interpreters are trained professionals who accurately and confidentially convey health information between patients and providers. They are skilled in medical terminology, cultural context and privacy standards, and work to ensure that communication is clear, respectful and complete.
