Describe your endeavor.

I’ve always loved to cook, and nothing makes me happier than to come home from work and go right into the kitchen to start chopping garlic. The soothing, repetitive connection between blade and cutting board instantly calms and centers me, no matter the pressures of the day. This is double true when I am cooking a favorite family dish from Puerto Rico, where I grew up.

Here’s where #myEndeavor comes in. About five years ago, I found a super-wrong recipe on a major website online that put jalapeños in Puerto Rican arroz con pollo. That’s when I realized mainstream cooking sites often get Latino food all mixed up, so I co-founded FamiliaKitchen.com, a website dedicated to preserving, publishing and celebrating authentic family recipes from the 20 homelands that Latinos come from to the U.S.

If I meet you and you are Latino, I will probably ask if I can interview you about your favorite family recipe. Familia Kitchen will then cook it, post it and make a how-to video showing the world the magic and beauty of your special dish, so we can preserve it for future generations.

How does your endeavor make you better at your job?

At Endeavor Health, I work with a super-talented team that makes and distributes content about our health system. Because I have my own personal website project with strategic content creation, digital marketing, newsletters, and KPIs, I am always learning about what works and doesn’t work in storytelling, and how to stay on top of the shifts in the algorithm. I put all of this to work for Endeavor Health content strategies.

How do you see your endeavor evolving?

FamiliaKitchen.com is my forever side hustle, and my co-founder Lisa and are going to keep adding recipes and food experiences to the website, as we work to become the No. 1 Latino recipes website for authentic homecooking in the U.S. and then the world. Think big, right? #MyEndeavor
