Gabrielle Cummings serves as President, Endeavor Health Evanston Hospital and as the senior operations executive for Endeavor Health’s NorthShore Hospitals group that includes Evanston, Glenbrook, Highland Park and Skokie Hospitals and associated clinical service lines. She also leads the Endeavor Health Cancer service line.
Cummings joined Endeavor Health as an Administrative Fellow in 2002. Prior to her appointment at Evanston Hospital, she served as President of Highland Park Hospital and in senior leadership roles at both Evanston and Glenbrook Hospitals.
Throughout her more than 20 years with NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore) and Endeavor Health, Cummings has demonstrated her passion and talent for building strong connections and fostering collaboration among teams to achieve great things together. To date, this has included supporting NorthShore’s Pathology and Laboratory team in developing the first COVID-19 test in Illinois, developing NorthShore’s Health Equity strategy and playing a key role in the launch of Endeavor Health’s Community Investment Fund, which awards funds annually to local organizations to enhance health, wellbeing, health equity and support economic growth. Cummings also served as President of Highland Park Hospital through the tragic July 4, 2022, mass shooting and collaborated with teams and officials locally and nationally to provide care and support to the community.
Before joining Endeavor Health, Cummings served as a senior medical services underwriter for St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance Company. She earned a bachelor’s degree in healthcare management from Florida A&M University and a master’s in health administration with a concentration in strategic management from the University of Minnesota, where she remains involved with the Alumni Association and supporting graduate school students in developing their careers.
Cummings is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and Leadership Greater Chicago, and recently served on the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Hospital Licensing Board and Lake County Partners Board. She is also a member of the National Association of Health Services Executives, the Economic Club of Chicago and is dedicated to serving as a mentor for young professionals in healthcare.
Born in Atlanta and raised in Dallas, Cummings is a Southerner at heart whose parents instilled in her early the importance of pushing for excellence while also remaining curious and humble, spreading joy and connecting with people of all backgrounds.
Cummings currently resides in Chicago. She enjoys traveling the world, spending time with her nieces, and is a huge proponent of meditation, prayer and working out to remain grounded.
