Sanjeeb Khatua, MD, MBA, MPH, serves as the System Chief Physician Executive for Endeavor Health, supporting efforts to advance clinical excellence, create an innovative delivery model across the continuum of care and drive the system’s Medical Group strategy. Working in close partnership with Chief Clinical Officer Lakshmi Halasyamani, MD, he drives quality, safety and efficiency across the system, leading the continued advancement of our clinically integrated network and value-based care strategy.

In leading the Endeavor Health Medical Group strategy, Dr. Khatua has been instrumental in building a strong, connected physician network, reinforcing our commitment to innovation, collaboration and excellence in care delivery. He is a champion of patient-centered care and physician well-being, working to ensure alignment across the system and that physicians have the tools and flexibility to deliver high-quality care while maintaining work-life balance. He has a deep understanding of healthcare policy and payment structures and is committed to building a sustainable, equitable healthcare system.

Before joining Endeavor Health in 2022, he was President and CEO of UnityPoint Clinic and previously served as Executive Vice President and Chief Physician Executive at Edward-Elmhurst Health (EEH), where he helped substantially expand the medical group and elevate physician voices and leadership across the system, fostering collaboration and strengthening clinical integration. Dr. Khatua is a board-certified family medicine physician and practiced with Edward Medical Group prior to ascending to multiple leadership roles within EEH.

Dr. Khatua is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, a member of the American Association for Physician Leadership and also sits on the American Hospital Association Committee for Clinical Leadership. He has been honored by the Illinois Academy of Family Physicians for promoting excellence in health and well-being across Illinois and was named one of Modern Healthcare’s Top 25 Emerging Leaders in 2020.

Dr. Khatua holds an MPH from Loma Linda University, an MBA in Healthcare Management from Loyola University Chicago, and a medical degree from the Medical University of Silesia.

Dr. Khatua enjoys spending time with his wife, three children and two dogs. He starts each morning with a cup of coffee and, despite a busy schedule, prioritizes staying healthy and active.
