Planning your visit
Labor & delivery (L&D)
- Visiting hours: 24 hours a day
- Support person access: Patients may designate one support person 18 years or older
- Visitor policy: Up to 2 visitors 18 years or older (visitors may rotate)
- Additional notes: Doulas are a member of the care team (not counted as a visitor)
- During the pushing stage and delivery: Patients may have one designated support person, a doula (if applicable), and 1 visitor (may not rotate). May be limited per the discretion of the care team.
- Triage: 1 support person
- OR/PACU: 1 support person (no rotation, no doulas)
Antepartum
- Visiting hours: 7 am–8 pm daily
- Support person access: Only 1 support person or doula over the age of 18 may spend the night
- Visitor policy: Healthy siblings of the newborn may visit during visiting hours and must be accompanied by an adult other than the patient.
- Additional notes: All visitors must be healthy and age 18 or older. May be limited per the discretion of care team.
Mother & baby
- Visiting hours: 7 am–8 pm daily
- Support person access: Only 1 support person or doula over the age of 18 may spend the night
- Visitor policy: Healthy siblings of the newborn may visit during visiting hours and must be accompanied by an adult other than the patient.
- Additional notes: All visitors must be healthy and age 18 or older. May be limited per the discretion of care team.
Special care nursery (SCN)
- Visiting hours: 24 hours a day
- Support person access: 2 per bedside at a time, and 1 must be banded
- Visitor policy: Grandparents only
- Additional notes: No visitors under age 18
Within Elmhurst Hospital, you will find several dining and shopping options, including gift shops, a cafeteria and a Starbucks.
Wildflower® Café (cafeteria)
The Wildflower® Café, centrally located on the first floor of the hospital, offers a wide variety of delicious and healthy menu options.
Hours:
Monday-Friday: 6:30 a.m.-7 p.m.
Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 7 a.m.-6:30 p.m.
In addition, we can help you manage any nutrition-related concerns through consultations with registered dietitians. Call (630) 527-3200.
Starbucks
It's the perfect spot to sit back, get a cup of coffee or a pastry, and relax. Starbucks merchandise, food and gift cards are available as well.
Monday-Saturday: 6:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m.
Sunday and holidays: 6:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
Nightly: 1:00 a.m.-4:30 a.m.
Parking
We offer free parking in our Main Campus parking lots. If you arrive at the main campus during the overnight hours, between 9 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., please park in the Red Parking Lot and enter through the Emergency Department entrance.
Valet parking
Free valet parking is available Monday through Friday at several locations on the Elmhurst Hospital campus:
- Main entrance: 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
- Center for Health: 8 a.m.-6 p.m.
- Nancy W. Knowles Cancer Center: 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
- West medical office building (MOB): 4:30 a.m-8:30 p.m.
The Wild Rose® Floral & Gift Shop
Looking for a unique gift or a treat for yourself? The Wild Rose® Floral & Gift Shop in Elmhurst Hospital offers a little bit of everything, including flowers, cards, candy, magazines, gift items and more. Our on-site floral designer can create custom and pre-made flower arrangements to suit your taste and budget.
You can place an order either in-person, or over the phone by calling (331) 221-3407. We offer free delivery on the hospital campus.

Our clinically trained chaplains provide confidential, inclusive spiritual, religious, and emotional support that respects each person’s unique and valuable life story. As you navigate changes and challenges let us partner with you and your loved ones to explore sources of meaning and purpose and identify resources for coping and healing.

Elmhurst Hospital offers regular grief groups. Call (630) 331-8398 for more information about grief groups.
Elmhurst Hospital provides free interpreter services for patients and families, including interpretation over the telephone, video remote interpreting and in person interpreters.
We also offer a number of other amenities to make your stay as pleasant as possible.
