Recently, the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), modified its recommendations regarding hepatitis B vaccination for newborns. The ACIP voted to withdraw its recommendation that all newborns receive the hepatitis B dose at birth.
Endeavor Health will continue to follow the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), which advocate for universal hepatitis B vaccination for all newborns. The AAP guidelines are evidence-based and informed by research and deep clinical expertise.
