Care philosophy
As a sports medicine physiatrist, I specialize in the care of the musculoskeletal system, treating both acute and overuse injuries. My goal is to help individuals return to the activities they love and maintain an active lifestyle for as long as possible. When appropriate, I use targeted interventions to support recovery and optimize function. As a former athlete, I deeply appreciate the value of staying active at every stage of life, and I strive to provide personalized care that empowers each patient to safely return to movement and performance.

I am the son and father of RNs. I've been trained to be observant. My mother taught me to never leave a great doctor. I'm staying with Dr Callahan. Unfortunately, I have multiple serious issues. Dr. Callahan isn't responsible all my issues. But, she is fully aware of all my issues and her treatment takes my total health picture Into consideration. I fully understand my plan for the future. It's not pretty. But, It's well thought out and makes sense. It's nice to know that she is here for me when I need her.

Dr. Callahan was fantastic! She listened to my concerns, was prepared for my visit by looking into my history and X-rays beforehand, and explained everything in detail in terms I could understand. She made me feel at ease as soon as she walked into the room. She and her staff were so friendly and made me feel welcome. I would highly recommend anyone to see her.

I felt heard. I felt seen. I was given options, and was equipped with a real plan that gave concrete steps to take and connected me with effective support. When I left, I felt better because I was confident my current condition had everything it needed to GET better. What more can a person in pain ask for from a doctor? Oh yes, everyone was genuinely warm and cordial. Being autistic, I'm usually very apprehensive of doctors visits, but I was instantly put at ease from day 1 and I can show up with my needs ready, not my nerves wracked. It means more than most would consider to know to someone with a neurodivergent system. Thank you.

Dr Callahan spent a lot of time asking questions and understanding my goals for getting back on the soccer field. Her treatment plan reflected those goals. She was really kind and very engaged with our appointment. 10/10 - in only one visit, one of my favorite doctors I've ever seen.

I just met with Dr. Callahan for the first time yesterday. When she walked in she had already read my records and knew what my situation was. She was extremely thorough in her exam and explained things on a way that I could understand while keeping my anxiety down. She advised on a plan of care and made me feel so comfortable. I honestly can't say enough good things about my experience.
