Less is better. I believe exercise is the ultimate guide to health. Medicine and injections can relieve pain, but recovery comes through movement. I encourage patients to take an active role in healing and aim to treat conditions in the safest and most effective way possible.

My Doctor was prompt and courteous. He listened to me describe my issues. He suggested that I slowly stop taking a drug that I had been using. He said that it was not a long term solution. He ordered x-rays and said that he would make a recommendation after viewing the x-rays.

Dr. Alleva was very thorough during my exam and answered all of my questions. As I explained my problem, Dr. Alleva was focused on the computer the whole time, and I did not feel he was listening to me. He obviously was, and perhaps he was looking at my past test results to save time, but I still found some level of empathy lacking.

I received 2 injections from Dr Alleva so far. The first lower back injection was successful, eliminating a problem with shooting pain down my leg. The second injection in a shoulder joint has already resulted in improvement after less than a week. Dr. Alleva is very caring, efficient, and skilled in pain management.

Appointment was to analyze my condition and determine next steps. Dr. Alleva stated he understood I was in pain, and laid out the options. It was clear he had looked at my history and was not making me repeat it, instead, he was building on it. I really appreciate that. From there, date/time was set for the steroid shot - it was sooner than anticipated, i.e., no long wait that I experienced with surgeons.
