About Lauren Wiebe, MD
Dr. Lauren Wiebe is a medical oncologist at Endeavor Health specializing in gastrointestinal (GI) cancers. She graduated cum laude in Economics from Harvard and then earned her medical degree from Columbia University. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Chicago and continued there for her Medical Oncology Fellowship, finishing in 2009. During that time, she also completed a Fellowship at the MacLean Center for Clinical Medical Ethics. Driven by a motivation to improve symptom management for GI cancer patients, Dr. Wiebe combines the latest cancer therapies with supportive care and compassion.

I take an empathetic, thoughtful approach to care, taking the time to answer questions clearly and honestly so that patients and their families feel supported and informed at every step of their cancer journey. As a member of Endeavor Health’s multidisciplinary team in GI cancers, I develop coordinated, comprehensive treatment plans that integrate the latest advances in cancer medicine for best outcomes and quality of life for people facing GI cancers.

Meeting your oncologist for the first time can be anxiety producing. Dr. Weibe was wonderful. She was calming and took so much time to have a conversation with me and answer my questions. Her nurse [...] did the blood draw herself so I didn't have to wait in the queue. Overall a wonderful care team and they made me feel comfortable and heard.

Alhough a visit to an oncologist is very serious business, Dr. Weibe made the visit so much lighter through her excellent sense of humor. This didn't impact her knowledge of the issue, it just made it easier for me to relax and absorbe the sensitive information she needed to convey.
