This was my first time meeting Dr. Allen, and my first time ever at a gynecologist in general. She was SOOO lovely and kind and made it obvious that she prioritized patient centered care. Her decision to not even have patients in the gowns when she meets them goes so much further than providers realize. And its clear that she heavily cares about patient autonomy. I felt very heard at my appointment with her, and she was also able to break down information to me in a very digestible way. The MA who I met first who took my vitals was also very kind and welcoming, I unfortunately just dont remember her name. But I have no complaints about the people who ran my appointment this day, I was very pleasantly surprised with how not scary it was.

I highly recommend Dr. Allen. She is a physician who listens, patiently explains diagnosis, and treats her patient has an adult, meaning she collaboratively determines the best case of action for next steps. She is also trained in treating women in perimenopause/menopause which sadly not all OB/Gyns are.

Dr. Allen is far and away the best doctor I have ever had. She is as brilliant as she is thoughtful. In my first visit with her she introduced herself then laid out the plan for our time together, making time and space for me to kick off the visit with my priorities and concerns and letting me know what to expect (in this case a breast exam, a pelvic exam, and a pap). Then as I brought up my reason for visiting, she really listened and gave me ample time to remember all of the things that I wanted to mention. Then when she was sure I had the time and space I needed to express my concerns, she asked a few follow up questions that helped me to remember even more points that I wanted to mention but would have forgotten to without her sincere inquiry. She didn't just make me feel comfortable sharing with her, she invited me to bring her all of my thoughts and priorities--making my priority her priority. She laid out options for diagnostics then possible insights and treatment directions that would come from each one. In reflecting on her visit, I could not imagine a way that it could have gone better. I imagine that most (good) doctors are trying to achieve what Dr. Allen has achieved. I feel at home in her practice.
