The colon was temporarily untwisted, but surgery was required for a permanent fix. Because of the temporary untwisting, a scheduled laparoscopic robotic procedure was possible instead of emergency open surgery. Dr Kim performed the surgery, which I understand is a very complex procedure. Both pre and post op, he and his team were great about explaining things and leaving room for questions. Because of the risks of colon surgery so soon after hip surgery, Dr Kim reached out to talk with my ortho surgeon about special precautions. Dr. Kim Is clearly very skilled - I have healed surprisingly fast with no complications, and I have heard unsolicited opinions from other doctors about his capabilities.
