Additionally, patients can visit the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Open Payments website, a national disclosure program that promotes a more transparent and accountable healthcare system. It houses a publicly accessible database of payments that reporting entities — including pharmaceutical, device, and biotechnology companies — make to covered recipients such as physicians and hospitals.

CMS is required by law to publish this data annually on or before June 30 for the previous reporting year. The data is published annually, so it may not reflect the most recent reporting period. If you have questions about the information, talk with your physician.
