Meet our therapy dogs

While all dogs have an inherent ability to make us smile, therapy dogs are a special group.

They possess certain personality characteristics that give them the ability to roam a hospital facility without being thrown off by machinery, strangers, electronic beeping or rolling carts. They can resist the urge to run down a wide-open hall, even if they really, really want to. They can never get enough pets from humans.

We like to think the dogs who volunteer with Endeavor Health’s Animal-Assisted Therapy program are especially wonderful, as they make their rounds offering warm pets and wet noses, beaming a ray of sunshine into each patient’s room they visit. Hunter
Breed: Golden Retriever
Birthday: Oct. 29, 2020
Weight: 94 pounds
Owner: Kimberly
Hunter is a 4-legged con artist. He’s a pro at making human friends and swiping socks. His favorite trick? Convincing the family he deserves a second dinner — sneaky genius! He also insists on having his own seat at the dinner table, because obviously. He’s a loyal shadow.
 

Junie
Breed: Sheepadoodle
Birthday: March 14, 2019
Weight: 75 pounds
Owner: Darcy
Junie was born black and white and will eventually fade into gray as she ages. She is playful, intelligent and fun-loving. She is very cuddly and loves to crawl up in your lap. She loves to dance and play ball.
 

KoKo 
Breed: Havanese
Birthday: June 17, 2023
Weight: 10 pounds
Owner: Mia
KoKo is an affectionate and bright companion. She is gentle, playful, and good with children. KoKo is very friendly to strangers and to other pets. She is intuitive and very responsive to affectionate hugs and kisses.
 

Madison

Madi was born with an old soul. She is laid back and enjoys her naps. She is a lover of all of her plush toys and always has one in her mouth when greeting you. Socks are her second favorite to carry. Madison was named after one of her family’s favorites, the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
 

Minnie
Breed: Mini Bernedoodle
Birthday: April 7, 2023
Weight: 30 pounds

Minnie is a happy and sweet girl who is full of energy. She loves to run, prance and chase squirrels. When she’s not making new friends at the hospital, she enjoys being with her family and camping. Regardless of where you meet her, she is certain to make your day a bit brighter with her smile.
 

Pete
Breed: Golden Retriever
Birthday: April 9, 2022
Weight: 68 pounds

Pete is a sweet boy who loves making new friends. He enjoys swimming at his grandparents’ lake, chasing tennis balls and playing tug of war. He lives in the city and knows exactly which storefronts have treats. He brings his mom and local dog walkers to these spots daily. His favorite foods are peanut butter, pup cups and cheese.
 

Remi
Breed: Poodle

Remi is a very happy, sweet and friendly girl with lots of energy. She is very athletic. She loves everyone she meets and is especially excited to meet children. She loves to play ball and is a great companion. She likes to go everywhere with her owner and make new friends, both 2-legged and 4-legged.
 

Samson

Samson is a happy and sweet boy who loves people of all ages. His two goals in life are to always be good and play fetch. When he is not making new friends on his visits, he loves playing with his Golden sister, Sailor. Sammy loves small children and is the best buddy to toddlers. Wherever Sammy goes he brings joy and smiles.
 

Tinker

Tinker is a happy, playful girl who is eager to make friends with everyone. When she is not making new friends at the hospital, she enjoys long walks, watching dogs on TV, playing with all her toys, and trying to get the neighborhood kids to pet her through the fence. She would love to meet you for a quick snuggle.
 

Scamp
Breed: Hound/Boxer

Scamp is an All-American dog. He is believed to be part Plott Hounds, Mountain Curr and Boxer and possibly other breeds. Those breeds all feature the distinctive brindle coloring. Hounds combine strength, agility, style and grace. Boxers are fearless, intelligent and friendly as a guard, worker or companion. Scamp is friendly, smart and loving. He participates in agility, likes to play at the dog park, take long walks and chase squirrels and rabbits.
 

Toby
Breed: Dachshund
Birthday: March 2, 2015

The dachshund is a curious, lively, stubborn and comical little dog that is attached to his family. Dachshunds are often kept in pairs and prefer being with other “wiener dogs.” They were bred to hunt for badgers, they have a strong tunneling instinct and use their long nose to sniff out the perfect spot to leave their mark. Toby is very sweet, sometimes shy, but loves attention. His favorite hobbies are chasing rabbits and squirrels, guarding his yard and destuffing squeaker toys. Toby loves pizza night as small pieces of crust are his favorite treat. Toby inherited his build and personality from his father and his beautiful chocolate color from his mother.
 

Clarice
Breed: Alaskan Malamute

Majestic and dignified, the Alaskan Malamute is an affectionate and friendly family dog. The largest and oldest of the Arctic sled dogs, the Alaskan Malamute possesses great strength and endurance. Clarice’s favorite activities are running and wrestling. The wintertime is Clarice’s favorite season. She loves spending all day playing in the snow while her fur coat keeps her nice and warm. With Clarice’s friendly personality and gentle nature, she can’t wait to go on visits to the hospital to make new friends and see her fellow therapy dogs.
 

Maxine
Breed: Shetland Sheepdog

Shelties look like miniature collies. They are energetic, intelligent and loyal companions who are willing to please and work hard. On Halloween, Maxine dresses in her Bavarian kilt and parades around with her owner who is dressed in a German dirndl. This way they honor their Scottish and German heritage and celebrate Octoberfest. One thing that makes Maxine unique are her ears, one stands up and the other folds over.
 

Lucy
Breed: Labrador Retriever
Birthday: Sept. 13, 2014

The Labrador Retriever is gentle, intelligent and family-friendly. They aim to please and excel as guide dogs for the blind and as part of search-and-rescue teams. Lucy loves to play! She is happiest when she is around people and really enjoys going to football games where she can be petted by adults and children. Lucy loves to run through the woods and explore the outdoors with her nose, chasing after every sound and following every scent. She is serious at work, but is playful and loving, too, making her a great therapy dog.
 

Gracie
Breed: Maltese

Maltese are one of the most gentle-mannered of all little dogs. This breed is intelligent, spirited, lively, playful, loving and devoted to its master. Gracie is spunky and fun loving. She has a tail that never stops wagging. She loves to give kisses and go on walks. Gracie gets so excited at mealtime that she does “twisties” by turning in circles. She begs for treats in the cutest way by standing on her hind legs and dancing while waving her paws. She follows a legacy of therapy dogs.
 

Rocco
Breed: Cavapoo

The Cavapoo is a crossbreed between a Toy Poodle and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Combining the Cavalier’s gentle nature and human companionship and the poodle's natural intelligence, the Cavapoo possesses a sweet disposition, warm demeanor and cheerful personality making it an ideal pet. Rocco is a bundle of happiness who loves to be surrounded by people and other dogs. He befriends everyone he meets. He is always up for a game of chase and will run circles around big dogs. When playtime is over you will find him cuddling on the couch or enjoying his favorite treat: peanut butter.
 

Molly
Breed: Poodle/Golden Retriever

The cross of Golden Retriever and Poodle combines the best of both breeds. Poodles tend to be smart, gentle and great watch dogs; while Goldens tend to be gentle and reserved. Molly is a real sweetheart whose favorite pastime is to bring a toy and greet anyone coming through the door. This greeting only applies to humans, should you be a furry wild animal (squirrel, raccoon, skunk, coyote, etc.) she will let you know you are not welcome.
 

Lex

Golden Retrievers are friendly, intelligent and fun-loving dogs. They are great family dogs who will love anyone who loves them back. Lex is a loving family dog. He enjoys chasing his squirrel-shaped Frisbee in the back yard. His favorite indoor game is searching for a small hidden bag of treats. Lex is an affectionate dog who loves to be snuggled anytime. He is gentle with children and older adults and enjoys their attention.
