Educational classes

In-person and online sessions on pregnancy, postpartum care, newborn care and parenting.

Labor & delivery pre-registration

Pre-registration is available for Edward Hospital, Elmhurst Hospital, Evanston Hospital, Highland Park Hospital and Northwest Community Hospital. Swedish Hospital does not require pre-registration.

  • Please complete pre-registration as early as possible in your pregnancy.
  • If your obstetrician is part of Endeavor Health Medical Group (EHMG):
    • Registration is optional. You can pre-register through MyChart. If you don’t have a MyChart account sign up today.
  • If your obstetrician is not an Endeavor Health Medical Group provider (this applies to any independent provider, including Duly providers):
    • Registration is required. You can complete your pre-registration online by clicking on the correct link below. You will need to include copies of your photo ID and health insurance card (front and back). Please fill out the form for the hospital where you’ll be giving birth.

Pre-register for your delivery up to 90 days before your due date. Have your insurance information and full contact information for your designated emergency contact ready.

Pre-register for Evanston Hospital or Highland Park Hospital

  • Please complete pre-registration as early as possible in your pregnancy.
  • If you have a NCH MyChart account:
    • Log in to your MyChart account.
    • From the menu, select visits, then select register for my delivery.
    • Select your estimated delivery date.
    • Select Northwest Community Hospital.
    • Verify your demographics.
    • Fill out the questionnaire — have your insurance card handy. It also includes questions about your pediatrician and birth.
  • If you don't have a NCH MyChart account:
    • If you’ve been to NCH in the past, you can sign up for an account here.
    • If you’ve never been to NCH, call (847) 618-3775 from 8 am-6 pm, Monday-Friday to set up your account.

Get familiar with your birthing center through scheduled in-person or virtual tours.

Our certified lactation consultants offer one-on-one support, both in-person and virtually.

Breastfeeding support after discharge

Join a group prenatal care model that combines medical visits with peer support. This concept, offered in Highland Park, embraces patient-centered care, empowers and educates patients and builds connections with other pregnant women. To learn more or to register, call register call (847) 841-7600.

Meet other new or expecting parents through guided support groups available at multiple locations.

Cradle Talk (Naperville)

This group is for all new moms and babies (0-6 months old) who are looking for friendship and support. It is facilitated by an RN/prenatal educator and includes a presentation from one of our community partners on topics of interest to new parents. Partners are encouraged to join mom when able.

  • Meets Wednesdays 10-11:30 am. Registration is not required.
  • Lactation consultants will be available for breastfeeding questions on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month.
  • Location: Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church 815 S. Washington St Naperville (across from Edward Hospital ER)*
  • Please be considerate of others and do not attend if mom or baby have had symptoms of illness within the previous 24 hours.

Nurturing mom

(Edward Hospital, Elmhurst Hospital & Linden Oaks Hospital)

This group is for new and expectant moms looking for support with the transition to parenthood as well as those experiencing symptoms of perinatal anxiety and/or depression. The group is led by a licensed clinical therapist with weekly meetings that alternate between in-person and virtual via Webex.

Registration is not required for in-person sessions but please register online for each of the virtual sessions to receive the Webex links. They are recurring, so you only need to register one time for each session you wish to attend.

In-person classes will be held at the following locations:

  • Naperville: Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church 815 S. Washington St. in Naperville (across from Edward Hospital ER)
  • Lombard: Endeavor Health Center 130 S. Main St. in Lombard

Perinatal Family Support Center

(Evanston Hospital and Highland Park Hospital)

We assist patients and families with maternal mental health support, advocacy and connection to community resources during pregnancy and postpartum. We also support families whose child is admitted to Evanston Hospital pediatric unit or Special Care Unit, and Highland Park Hospital’s Special Care Nursery. We specialize in:

  • Medical and mental health concerns
  • Preterm or complicated deliveries, teen pregnancy
  • Pregnancy loss at any stage
  • Care for unexpected, life-limiting diagnosis of an unborn baby
  • Psychosocial stress such as financial, housing, food, substance abuse, intimate partner violence

Perinatal Wellness Program

Pregnancy and new parenthood are exciting milestones, but they can also bring unexpected challenges. If you're feeling stressed, anxious, or just not yourself, you're not alone. Our program offers services to support you during this important time, including the 24/7 MOMS Line and convenient online therapy through Parentline.

  • MOMS Line is a 24/7 helpline for anyone needing support for perinatal depression and anxiety. Available to all Endeavor Health patients and Illinois residents. Call (866) 364-MOMS (866-364-6667) for support.
  • Parentline provides free online therapy sessions for eligible individuals in Illinois experiencing mild to moderate mental health concerns related to pregnancy or postpartum. It's a flexible way to get support with common issues like mood swings, anxiety, adjusting to parenthood, sleep difficulties, and infant irritability. Parentline offers short-term support or can be a stepping stone to longer-term care, depending on your individual needs.

For parents who have experienced ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage, stillbirth or early infant death. Virtual meetings held the first, second and fourth Tuesday of each month from 8-9:30 pm.

Sharing HOPE 

(Having Optimistic Pregnancy Expectations) is a support group for parents who have experienced a loss and are now pregnant or considering pregnancy.

Virtual meetings are held the second and fourth Thursday of the month from 8-9:30 pm.

The Perinatal Family Support Center, located at Evanston Hospital and Highland Park Hospital provides free services to patients and their families experiencing challenges with pregnancy, birth, prematurity or perinatal loss.

Northwest Community Hospital

Pregnancy and Infant Loss Program

This program supports families as they navigate their way following a life-limiting diagnosis or loss during pregnancy. The program includes grief information and resources, consultations with a perinatal palliative care coordinator and access to local support groups.

Northwest Suburban Pregnancy and Infant Loss Support Group

When: Second Tuesday of the month: 7–8 pm
Where: Virtual

Nearly one in four pregnancies end in a loss. Many of these losses are left unspoken, leaving families to cope with their grief alone. This is a free support group for mothers, fathers, grandparents and friends who have experienced the loss of a baby through miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth or newborn death.

We provide a safe space to express your feelings, grieve and feel supported by others who understand. Everyone grieves differently and at a different pace and this group will honor your unique way.

Pregnancy & Parenting After Loss (PAL) Support Group

When: The 4th Tuesday of every month: 7–8 pm
Where: Virtual

Navigating a pregnancy after loss can bring unexpected challenges, fears and emotions. Cautious hope and joy are often overshadowed by the anxiety that arises.  We are here to support you through this time and allow space for your grief and your hope.

Compassionate Friends

When: Third Tuesday of every month: 7–9 pm

A support group dedicated to providing support for parents, grandparents and siblings when a child, grandchild or sibling dies.

Our maternal fetal medicine experts offer prenatal screening methods and risk assessment tools for inherited genetic disorders or birth defects.

The Pathways Program serves patients experiencing gender-based violence, including domestic violence, stalking, human trafficking and sexual violence. This program utilizes trained and certified advocates and crisis counselors to engage in:

  • Bedside and post-discharge crisis intervention, safety planning and options counseling
  • Advocacy and case management after discharge
  • Trauma therapy
  • Support groups
  • Connections to trauma-informed providers
  • Referrals to outside gender-based violence agencies

Pathways also launched a Trauma-informed Primary Care Clinic in 2025, which provides specialized, compassionate care for patients affected by domestic violence, sexual violence and human trafficking. The clinic offers a trauma-informed approach with onsite advocacy for adults and minors accessing primary care, with a focus on pelvic and sexual health care and follow-up services for physical violence and sexual assault.
