Endeavor Health has partnered with Outreach through Endeavor Health’s Community Investment Fund (CIF).
Through the support of the Community Investment Fund, Outreach established the Outreach York Counseling Center, expanding access to affordable behavioral health services in eastern DuPage County.
The Endeavor Health CIF is honored to help launch the counseling center establish their team, including therapists, a program administrator, a bilingual office manager and a case manager as well.
“When the Community Investment Fund became available, it was perfect. It was what we needed. We knew that we wanted to attach counseling to the community center, we just didn’t have a way to do it,” said Stephanie Griswold, PsyD, LCP, senior clinical officer, Outreach.
“When I think about what’s so good about having the Community Center and the Counseling Center walking hand in hand is it really reminds us that the work we’re doing is holistic,” Griswold said.
Outreach York Community Center offers after school programs to help kids with academic support and adult services, including assistance to families in crisis. Together, the Outreach York Counseling Center and Community Center address behavioral health as a priority health need in the community.
“As the teachers at the Community Center and staff there have conversations with students or their families and recognize there might be a need for counseling, they can easily say, ‘Hey, you know Miss Jess who comes on Mondays and does our social emotional learning class? She works at the counseling center, and you might be able to see her,” said Tanya Thomas, MA, LPC, NCC, counseling program director for Outreach York.
