Starting kids on a healthy path can help them thrive and build habits that last a lifetime.

Healthy kids are happy kids, and Endeavor Health is your partner in supporting healthy growth and development of the next generation.

That’s why Endeavor Health has created Healthy Endeavors for Kids, a free, bilingual wellness curriculum designed to support kids and teens ages 5 to 13.

What is Healthy Endeavors for Kids?

Healthy Endeavors for Kids is a free, ready-to-use wellness resource that helps young people build the skills, confidence and healthy habits they need to thrive. It is designed to be flexible and easy to implement in a variety of settings, including schools, after-school programs and summer camps.

Available in English and Spanish, the curriculum provides anyone in the community trusted, age-appropriate health education that can be adapted to their needs.

What’s included in the free kids’ health curriculum

The curriculum includes:

  • 24 structured lesson plans on key health and wellness topics
  • Activities tailored for different age groups
  • Printable lesson materials and knowledge checks
  • Facilitator setup instructions and supply lists
  • Take-home resources for families to reinforce learning at home

Used together as a full curriculum or separately as standalone lessons, these materials support whole-child health, covering topics such as personal care, healthy eating, physical and emotional wellness, social skills, digital awareness and basic first aid.

Building lifelong healthy habits for kids

Rooted in identified community health needs and created in direct response to requests from local organizations for youth health education, this initiative reflects a collaborative effort shaped by those it serves. This curriculum is a product of ongoing partnership with community stakeholders, demonstrating what’s possible when we work together to support youth health in our communities.

“Endeavor Health is committed to improving the health of the communities we serve. We know that healthy habits formed early in life can shape lifelong physical and emotional wellbeing,” said Kristen Murtos, chief innovation & transformation officer at Endeavor Health.

“Through Healthy Endeavors for Kids, we’re partnering with community organizations to expand access to engaging health education that builds confidence, sparks curiosity and empowers children to make healthy choices for life,” Murtos said.

A community-driven approach to child wellness

Endeavor Health piloted the program during summer camps in 2025 at several community locations, including the C.W. Avery Family YMCA in Plainfield, Tri-Town YMCA in Villa Park, Outreach programs in Lombard and Villa Park, and the Endeavor Health Fitness & Wellness Center in Woodridge.

"Healthy Endeavors for Kids made it so easy for my team to plan life skills for our elementary summer camp,” said Sarah Kling, elementary summer program coordinator, Outreach York. “We were able to choose a lesson from each of the categories, use supplies that we already had and implement the lessons with ease. Our students loved the lessons and engaged in the hands-on activities."

While camp staff noted that the 30-minute lessons were easy to implement and activities such as drawing, role-playing and movement helped campers stay engaged, the campers’ families also liked the program’s take-home resources, which help reinforce healthy habits at home.

“This work would not have been possible without the incredible collaboration behind it,” Murtos said. “We are deeply grateful to the more than 60 Endeavor Health team members and community partners who shared their time, insight and expertise to bring this vision to life.”
