There are people living in your community who don’t know how they’re going to feed their kids tonight. Between rent, gas and groceries, even those with full-time jobs may not have enough in their check to cover everything they need.

Help fight hunger in your community

Endeavor Health’s 2024 Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) found an average food insecurity rate of 11% across our service area. This means that on average, more than one in ten households within our service area has limited or uncertain access to food. In some of our communities as many as one in five households experience food insecurity. Potential changes to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits may increase the demand on food pantries to meet community needs.

Not having enough to eat can affect long-term health. One study found food insecurity was associated with a higher risk of developing cardiovascular disease. Another study found kids who experience hunger are more likely to have poorer health. Healthy foods are essential for managing chronic health conditions like diabetes, heart disease, and hypertension, helping to prevent complications and improve long-term outcomes.

As more people come to rely on community food pantries for help, Endeavor Health is striving to support those organizations in their mission to feed the hungry.

Endeavor Health will host a systemwide Healthy Food Drive July 25-Aug. 8, with each hospital partnered with a local food pantry. Our employees will join the surrounding community in contributing to the food drive and supporting our neighbors in need. We’re hoping you can help, too.

Please consider supporting local organizations working to eliminate hunger in our communities during the Healthy Food Drive. To make a donation or for more information about donation drop off sites at each hospital, view the fliers and visit the websites below.
