Advancements in hip and knee replacement surgery make same-day discharge possible for some people. This approach is often a good fit if you’re in generally good health, stay active and have support at home during recovery. Your care team will review your medical history, including any heart or lung conditions, to help determine whether outpatient joint replacement is right for you.
Our evidence-based rapid recovery approach encourages early movement and rehabilitation, often beginning the day of surgery. For eligible patients, this can mean less discomfort, fewer complications and a faster return to everyday activities.

From your first appointment through recovery at home, your Endeavor Health care team stays closely to support you every step of the way:
- Day of surgery: Your surgeon uses evidence-based techniques and rapid recovery protocols that encourage early movement and rehabilitation, often beginning the day of surgery. If you’re eligible, you may return home the same day based on your care plan.
- At-home support: A home health professional visits your home starting the day of surgery and continues for up to seven days to ensure you’re recovering safely and comfortably.
- Follow-up care: Within two to three weeks after surgery, you’ll see your surgeon who will check healing and guide next steps in your recovery. You’ll also have access to our team through our online portal during regular business hours to ask any questions.
