Therapeutic approach

Healing from trauma is a personal journey. That’s why we support you with evidence-based therapies designed to reduce distressing symptoms and improve your daily life. Our treatment approach is trauma-informed, meaning we create a safe, open space for you to process your experiences and develop effective coping strategies to help you regain a sense of control.

These therapeutic approaches may include:

  • Cognitive processing therapy (CPT): A highly effective, often short-term therapy for PTSD. CPT helps you learn to challenge and change unhelpful beliefs related to your trauma. By understanding trauma and PTSD, and examining your thoughts and feelings, you can reduce the ongoing impact of traumatic experiences.
  • Motivational interviewing (MI): Helps you explore and resolve any uncertainty you may feel about change. This collaborative approach places you at the center, supporting you in finding your own motivation to make positive change and honoring your active role in your recovery.
  • Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT): Helps you safely and effectively regulate emotions. This therapy teaches skills to increase distress tolerance, manage intense feelings and improve relationships that trauma may have affected.
  • Expressive therapy: Offers creative ways to process traumatic experiences and related emotions when words are difficult. Activities like art, music or movement therapy can help you explore feelings, reduce stress and foster healing in a supportive way.
