Maria Knecht, MSN, serves as the President of Endeavor Health Glenbrook Hospital, a position she has held since January 2024. She also has oversight of Endeavor Health’s Capacity Management Center and Centralized Staffing Office, as well as System Lab Services.

Prior to her current appointment, Knecht served as Glenbrook Hospital’s Chief Nursing Officer and Senior Vice President and was instrumental in enhancing compassionate, patient-focused, quality care and driving strategic initiatives across various clinical service lines.

Knecht played a key role in the opening of Endeavor Health Cardiovascular Institute at Glenbrook Hospital, a first-of-its-kind facility in Illinois and a regional destination for advanced heart care. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she was also instrumental in leading Glenbrook Hospital’s temporary transformation to a dedicated COVID-19 hospital for NorthShore University HealthSystem, helping ensure patients received the best possible care and team members felt safe and supported.

Knecht is proud of her 37 years as a nurse and believes her experience lends a unique perspective to her current role. Throughout her career, Knecht has been recognized for her strong leadership skills, creative problem-solving, grace under pressure and commitment to caring for others. Her expertise includes medical-surgical, critical care, surgical and emergency services, behavioral health, capacity management and several other key departments. 

Prior to her tenure at Endeavor Health, Knecht held senior leadership roles at UChicago Medicine AdventHealth GlenOaks and Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital. 

Knecht earned a Master of Science in Nursing from Loyola University Chicago and a certificate in Nursing and Healthcare Administration from the University of Illinois System. She is board certified as a Nurse Executive through the American Nurses Credentialing Center and a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

She is a member of the Glenview Chamber of Commerce and works closely with organizations serving the Glenview and Northbrook communities. She has a strong passion for environmental causes and served for many years as an active member of the Forest Preserve District of DuPage County’s Willowbrook Wildlife Foundation, holding many roles, including President. She is also a 20-year member of The Conservation Foundation. 

Knecht shares one son with her husband of 33 years as well as Bailey, their rescue dog. In her spare time, she can be found reading, cooking, walking and enjoying music.

As Endeavor Health’s inaugural Chief Development Officer, Lucy Kim leads the organization’s comprehensive philanthropic strategy, focusing on collaboration and partnerships to grow fundraising revenue in support of our mission. She is responsible for shaping an integrated development vision across the system’s five local Foundations, strengthening philanthropic impact at the community level while advancing growth and innovation systemwide.

Kim brings over 25 years of experience in nonprofit management and philanthropic advancement, with a proven record of building trusted relationships and securing transformative support. She is passionate about working with donors and internal partners to align strategies and values toward achieving shared purpose and ambitious outcomes.

Before joining Endeavor Health, Kim served as Chief Advancement Officer for Chicago Public Media, overseeing Development and Membership and serving as a key partner to the CEO and Board. During her tenure, she led the effort to raise $61 million to enable the acquisition of the Chicago Sun-Times by WBEZ, a public radio station, a first in American media history. Prior to that, she was Vice President of Development at the Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C., where she led philanthropic strategy in support of the organization’s mission to improve public policy and governance. Additionally, Kim served at Harvard University for 15 years in a number of leadership roles at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study and the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. She was the campaign director at Radcliffe and Chan that collectively raised over $1 billion during the $9.6 billion Harvard Campaign that concluded in 2018.

Kim has served as a Board member of the Boston University Tanglewood Institute and a non-resident adviser for Harvard undergraduates. She has also taught Public Narrative, a leadership-development practice developed by her mentor, Marshall Ganz, that empowers individuals and communities to propel social change.

Kim holds a Master of Education in Policy and Management from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, a Master of Music from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and a Bachelor of Music from Boston University. While a New England native, she is now a proud Evanstonian and loves to travel, cook, ride her bike along the lake, listen to music and attend live theater performances with her husband and daughter.

Katie McGovern serves as President of Endeavor Health Medical Group Operations, where she leads the strategic vision, operational alignment and financial stewardship of Endeavor Health Medical Group (EHMG). In this role, she is focused on creating a more seamless, connected experience for EHMG providers, team members and patients across the region. Additionally, she serves as the critical connection to Acute & Ambulatory and System Services Leadership.

McGovern is a collaborative and trusted leader, bringing more than 25 years of healthcare experience and a strong track record of driving operational excellence. Known for her focus on aligning strategy with frontline care, McGovern is deeply committed to creating high-performing care environments that support exceptional outcomes and a positive experience for patients and care teams alike.

Prior to her current role, she served as the EHMG System Vice President for Primary Care, Immediate Care, Occupational Health, and Northwest Community Healthcare and Edward-Elmhurst Health Service Area Medical Group Operations. Through her skilled implementation of effective physician alignment strategies, she has become a trusted EHMG leader and advisor and has proven instrumental in driving key initiatives such as the Primary Care Institute, APP growth, the Medical Assistant (MA) academy and more.

McGovern is a member of the Medical Group Management Association and the American College of Healthcare Executives, and serves on the board of the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce. As part of Endeavor Health’s Community Investment Fund, she also serves as a liaison to the People’s Resource Center in Wheaton.

McGovern earned her bachelor’s degree in accountancy from Northern Illinois University. She is married with three children and with any spare time she has, McGovern loves to travel to Europe.
