Safe sleep for your baby

Creating a safe sleep environment is one of the most important things you can do to protect your baby’s health in the first year of life. At Endeavor Health, we follow the latest guidelines to help reduce the risk of sudden unexplained infant death (SUID) and support healthy development.

We recommend the ABCs of safe sleep:

  • Alone. Share your room with your baby, but not your bed. Babies need to sleep in their own sleeping place.
  • Back. Babies are safest sleeping on their back. They are not more likely to choke while laying on their backs.
  • Crib. Your baby’s sleeping place should be on a firm mattress. The sleeping place should be clear of blankets, pillows, stuffed animals and crib bumpers.

Our team provides safe sleep education in the hospital and at newborn visits — and we’re always here to answer your questions or concerns.
