Medications and infusion therapies include a broad range of treatments used to destroy cancer cells, slow disease progression, or manage symptoms. These therapies may be administered orally, by injection, or through an IV (infusion) — and are often combined with surgery, radiation or other treatments as part of a comprehensive cancer care plan.
At Endeavor Health, our oncology teams work closely with specially trained infusion nurses, pharmacists and care coordinators to deliver each therapy safely and effectively.
Note: Not all infusion treatments are for cancer. Notably, some of our infusion centers also support patients with conditions like immune disorders, infections, anemia and more.

Types of medications and infusion therapies
Chemotherapy refers to medications to kill or slow the growth of cancer cells. It can be given by infusion, pill or injection — and is often used before or after surgery or in combination with radiation.
Hormone therapies block or lower hormones that fuel certain cancers like breast or prostate cancer. They can be used to manage cancer, reduce the risk of recurrence, or treat advanced disease.
This refers to treatments which stimulate your immune system to recognize and attack cancer cells. They may be delivered through IV infusions, and are often used in advanced-stage cancers or along with chemotherapy or molecularly targeted cancer treatments.
Targeted drugs interfere with specific genes or proteins involved in cancer growth. Genomic testing helps determine which patients may benefit from these therapies.
In addition to cancer care, our infusion centers provide other IV treatments — including antibiotics, hydration therapy, blood transfusions, IVIG, and biologics like Rituximab, Entyvio and Xolair.
