Personalized care for prostate cancer

Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers in American men — affecting about one in eight over their lifetime. It often grows slowly and responds well to treatment, especially when caught early. At Endeavor Health, we offer advanced screening, personalized treatment and ongoing support to help you feel informed and empowered throughout your care.

Our team includes specialists in urologic surgery, radiation oncology, medical oncology and genetic counseling — all working together to design a plan that reflects your stage, risk factors and priorities. From active surveillance to robotic surgery and precision therapies, we’re with you every step of the way.

Understanding prostate cancer

Prostate cancer develops in the prostate gland, which helps produce seminal fluid. While many are found early and managed successfully, some aggressive forms of the disease require prompt, specialized treatment.

Risk factors include:

  • Age 50 or older
  • Family history of prostate cancer
  • African American ancestry
  • BRCA1/BRCA2 genetic mutations
  • Diets high in red meat or low in vegetables
Common symptoms of bladder cancer

Prostate cancer may not cause symptoms in its early stages. When symptoms do appear, they may include:

  • Difficulty urinating or weak stream
  • Frequent urination (especially at night)
  • Blood in the urine or semen
  • Erectile dysfunction
  • Pelvic discomfort or back pain

These symptoms can also result from benign prostate conditions. Evaluation by a urologist is important if they persist.

Prostate cancer screening and diagnosis

We offer early detection tools that help identify prostate cancer before symptoms appear.

Screening tools include:

A blood test that measures prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels. Elevated PSA may indicate cancer or other conditions.

These advanced tests provide additional information about prostate cancer risk and help guide decisions about whether a biopsy is needed.

A physical exam to detect prostate abnormalities.

Advanced imaging may guide biopsy and provide more detail about the tumor’s location.

Used in select patients to detect spread or recurrence.

May identify inherited mutations and help guide screening or treatment decisions.

Prostate cancer treatment and therapies

Treatment for prostate cancer is highly personalized and may involve one or more approaches. The right path depends on your cancer stage, health history, age and goals.

Our surgeons are skilled in radical prostatectomy (removal of the prostate), often performed using robotic-assisted (da Vinci) minimally invasive techniques.

We offer advanced external beam radiation (IMRT, SBRT using the Halcyon™, True Beam and Cyberknife Platforms), internal radiation (brachytherapy/seed implants), and hydrogel spacers for reducing rectal side effects.

Our experts offer hormone therapy, also known as androgen deprivation therapy (ADT), to lower testosterone and slow cancer growth.

We offer Pluvicto (lutetium Lu 177 vipivotide tetraxetan), a theranostic radioligand therapeutic agent used to treat patients with prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)-positive metastatic prostate cancer.

We administer chemotherapy for certain advanced cases of prostate cancer.

Our experts offer therapies that help the immune system target cancer, often guided by genetic or molecular testing.
