Endeavor Health Vascular Surgery Program

Vascular surgery focuses on treating conditions of the arteries, veins and lymphatic vessels outside of the heart. Unlike cardiovascular surgery, which addresses conditions within the heart, vascular surgery restores blood flow throughout the body. With options ranging from noninvasive endovascular therapies to advanced surgical procedures, our goal is to help you recover quickly and improve your quality of life.

The Endeavor Health Vascular Surgery Program offers the most current and innovative treatment of vascular diseases by combining advanced research and clinical trial experience with minimally invasive endovascular therapies. Many of our vascular surgeons are part of a nationally-recognized fellowship and surgical residency with the University of Chicago and engage in teaching the next generation of vascular surgeons. 

Our Vascular Surgery Program also participates in a national vascular surgical quality initiative (VQI) that continually measures surgical outcomes. The program is consistently recognized as a top performer in the areas of aortic aneurysm surgery, carotid surgery, and peripheral artery disease procedures. Surgical expertise

At Endeavor Health, all of our vascular surgeons are fellowship trained. Some have academic appointments as professors within the University of Chicago and participate in the training of surgical residents and fellows.

Our vascular surgeons perform over 1500 vascular procedures per year and are recognized top performers based on benchmark reports from national registries VQI (Vascular Quality Initiative) and NSQIP (National Surgical Quality Improvement Project).

Our surgeons often see patients for second opinions given their experience, outcomes and overall expertise. Our vascular surgeons are versed in the latest technologies in vascular disease treatment, including:

  • Endovascular procedures: Minimally invasive treatments that are catheter based, such as angioplasty, stenting and thrombolysis, to restore blood flow and prevent conditions from worsening.
  • Bypass surgery: This procedure redirects blood flow to improve circulation and reduce risk of limb or organ loss in patients with severe peripheral artery disease and other arterial occlusive diseases.
  • Aneurysm and dissection repair procedures: These are used to treat abdominal, thoracic and thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms and dissections with both minimally invasive and open surgical techniques. Our surgeons also offer cutting-edge treatment of aneurysms and dissections in other areas of the body.
  • Dialysis access: Our surgeons create, maintain and offer access solutions for patients who require hemodialysis.
  • Vein care: Minimally invasive and state-of-the-art procedures for varicose and spider veins, chronic venous insufficiency, including endovenous laser ablation therapy, endovenous chemical adhesive ablation therapy, ambulatory microphlebectomy and sclerotherapy.
  • Carotid and cerebrovascular diseases: Carotid artery plaque is a leading risk factor for stroke. Our surgeons offer minimally invasive treatments for carotid artery disease, such as carotid stenting, TCAR (transcarotid artery revascularization/stenting), surgical endarterectomy and bypass procedures.
