The Practicum Training in Clinical Neuropsychology at Endeavor Health offers advanced training in both adult and pediatric neuropsychology. With two distinct tracks and a strong foundation in neuropsychological assessment, consultation and clinical report writing, this practicum provides an immersive and supportive experience for graduate students pursuing careers in neuropsychology.

Our program is grounded in mentorship, formal didactics and a collaborative clinical environment with opportunities for hands-on learning and growth.

About the program

The Practicum Training in Clinical Neuropsychology is designed for graduate students seeking specialized experience in neuropsychological assessment and consultation. The program includes two distinct training tracks:

  • Adult neuropsychology track
  • Pediatric neuropsychology track

Trainees receive:

  • Extensive outpatient training, with optional supplemental inpatient exposure (e.g., intraoperative language mapping, Wada testing for adult track)
  • Experience in diverse neuropsychological measures and techniques
  • Supervision from board-certified neuropsychologists and postdoctoral fellows
  • Formal didactic instruction focused on neuropsychological disorders and clinical application

Training takes place primarily at Endeavor Health Center – Evanston Behavioral Health and Endeavor Health Evanston Hospital. All locations are accessible by CTA and Metra, with free parking provided.

Program structure & curriculum

Trainees commit to 16–20 hours per week, typically over 2–3 days.

  • Adult track: Outpatient care with optional inpatient neuropsychology exposure
  • Pediatric track: Focused outpatient training in childhood and adolescent populations
  • At least two hours of structured one-on-one supervision weekly
  • Biweekly group supervision
  • Additional informal supervision and support from postdoctoral fellows

Mandatory participation in:

  • Neuroscience Grand Rounds
  • Neuropsychology Case Conference

Held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday mornings of each month

Life as a student

From individualized supervision to accessible training sites and a collegial learning environment, our practicum is designed to support students both professionally and personally as they build foundational skills in clinical neuropsychology.

Practicum students train on-site approximately 16–20 hours per week, typically over 2–3 days. This schedule supports hands-on learning and allows flexibility for academic responsibilities outside of placement.

Students receive a minimum of two hours of weekly individual supervision, biweekly group supervision and additional informal mentoring from licensed neuropsychologists and postdoctoral fellows.

Training occurs in modern outpatient facilities with EMR access and multidisciplinary collaboration. Didactic sessions, including Grand Rounds and Case Conferences, provide structured learning twice monthly.

Training sites in Evanston are accessible by CTA and Metra, with free parking available for practicum students at both locations.

The program supports a collegial environment that values trainee development and promotes professional growth through ongoing feedback and mentorship.
