Fellows receive competitive salaries, increasing by year of training (PGY4–PGY6), with a higher rate for the chief fellow. Comprehensive health insurance, vision, dental, disability and life coverage are included. A $2,500 annual CME allowance and $1,800 meal stipend support professional development and daily needs.
Training is supported by access to advanced diagnostic and procedural equipment, 24-hour medical library access and online resources through NorthShore. Fellows also benefit from free parking, a hospital-based fitness center membership and procedural simulation labs at Evanston Hospital.
Fellows participate in weekly didactic sessions, board review, journal clubs and interdisciplinary case discussions. Research time is built into the curriculum, with opportunities to present at national conferences.
Fellows receive 20 days of paid time off (PTO) and 5 days of CME leave annually. The program encourages work-life balance and supports emotional wellness through a collegial atmosphere and access to on-campus wellness resources.
Free parking is available at all primary and affiliate training sites. Swedish Hospital and its partner locations are accessible via major Chicago transit lines, with convenient commuting options from the North Side and surrounding suburbs.
