This three-year fellowship prepares future clinicians and leaders for both academic medicine and community-based practice. Fellows receive comprehensive, hands-on training from renowned subspecialists and participate in a robust learning environment with clinical and translational research opportunities.
Our program is sponsored by the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine.
The Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Program at Endeavor Health offers broad clinical and academic training under the mentorship of 25 disease-specific subspecialists. Fellows gain exposure to benign and malignant hematology and a full range of solid tumor oncology, including breast, gastrointestinal, thoracic, head and neck, genitourinary, cutaneous and sarcoma.
Training is further enriched by dedicated instruction in gynecologic and neuro-oncology, as well as foundational experiences in medical genetics, radiation oncology, surgical and molecular pathology, pharmacology, blood banking and palliative care. With strong mentorship and a supportive learning environment, fellows thrive academically and clinically. Research opportunities are available in the second and third years of fellowship, fostering both clinical and translational work.

Training is primarily based at two Kellogg Cancer Center locations — Evanston and Glenbrook — which are housed within hospital-connected outpatient facilities. These centers provide fellows with extensive patient interaction across diverse populations and cancer types.
Allogenic bone marrow transplant training is completed at the University of Chicago Medical Center, adding a high-volume academic tertiary care component to the experience. Fellows also benefit from access to Endeavor Health’s Grainger Center for Simulation and Innovation (GCSI), a 13,000-square-foot facility equipped for procedural and communication skills training.
